What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Sienna?

At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually strong. Pay close attention to bodywork, suspension behavior, and lower bumper condition, since owner feedback points to those areas as potential concerns. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment carefully, because some safety and convenience features are reserved for higher versions.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Limited trim adds upscale equipment such as power sliding doors, power folding third-row seats, front and rear sunroofs, navigation with live traffic, and a rear-seat entertainment system, while lower trims miss some of those luxury touches.
• Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 delivers 266 hp through a 6-speed automatic, with smooth acceleration and available all-wheel drive for added traction.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Connect includes Automatic Collision Notification and an SOS emergency button, and blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert are available; Safety Connect is reserved for the most expensive Limited model.
• Infotainment: The Sienna uses a 7-inch Entune display with intuitive touch controls, plus wireless-style smartphone app connectivity, advanced voice recognition, USB 2.0 fast-charge ports, and HD traffic and weather overlays.
• Fuel efficiency: The Sienna is rated at 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, with 21 mpg combined.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.32% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert summary: It’s the best Sienna yet, with major upgrades and improved safety.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $13,023, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $15,566 average.
• It’s a practical, utility-first minivan with a comfort-focused Limited.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,630, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $15,566 average.
• It adds Siri Eyes Free and a stronger tech emphasis.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest all-around version of this minivan, the 2015 is the best path. If your budget matters more than getting the newest improvements, the 2014 can still make sense; if you want a bit more tech and don’t mind paying more, the 2016 is the alternative to compare.

How does the 2015 Toyota Sienna compare to the 2015 Honda Odyssey?

Our experts score the 2015 Toyota Sienna 8.5/10 and the 2015 Honda Odyssey 7.5/10. The Sienna comes across as the more improved and better-rounded minivan here, with stronger tech, better safety emphasis, and a more compelling overall update. The Odyssey still has a lower average used price and slightly better fuel economy, but the Sienna’s broader feature set and stronger expert score make it the more appealing choice if you want the more complete family hauler.
