CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Toyota Sienna
overall

Summary
With 959 currently listed for sale and an average price of $15,547, 31.8% of 2015 Toyota Siennas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Toyota Sienna 4.78 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.5 / 10.
53.2% of 2015 Sienna models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Toyota Sienna stands out as a notably improved version of Toyota’s minivan, with the update making it, for the first time in its history, more appealing than the Honda Odyssey. It does not look very different from the previous model, but it brings numerous upgrades and improves in almost every respect. Safety is singled out as one of the most important areas of progress, which helps explain why this version is viewed as the best yet.
That broader appeal is reinforced by owner feedback, which points to reliability, spaciousness, and a strong feature set as major strengths. Drivers also praise its roomy interior, good power, and ease of maintenance. On the downside, some owners mention concerns about the suspension system and lower bumpers, so while the 2015 Toyota Sienna is widely seen as a highly capable family vehicle, it is not without a few practical drawbacks.

I just buy it, so far everything good, my only complaint is about that front and back bumper are too low.

This car is the best family car Ive had: 8 passengers capacity, roomy leg space, large cargo area. Its quiet inside and quick to accelerate. It drives very comfortably and safely with eather trim, GPS navigation, Bluetooth, parking censor, and many other good features. I expect it to last for a long time because of the reputation of Toyota and this particular model was praised on Consumer Reports.

Is the 2015 Toyota Sienna a good car?
Yes — you’re looking at a 4.78/5 user-rated minivan with an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and strong feature set, and they also call out the roomy interior, good power, and ease of maintenance. That lines up well with the Sienna’s family-first mission in the overview, where practicality, comfort, and everyday usefulness are the main reasons to shop it. With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s also meaningful value in the market if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Toyota Sienna reliable?
Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and owners also describe the Sienna as easy to maintain and dependable for family use.
The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by emphasizing improved ownership value and free scheduled maintenance during the first couple of years of ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the core drivetrain and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been worn down by family-duty miles and use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Sienna?
At 52.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the van has seen heavy family use. Focus on signs of body repair, suspension wear, and any evidence that lower-body damage may have been overlooked. A careful test drive should also confirm that the vehicle feels tight, tracks straight, and shows no unusual noises or vibrations.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Limited Premium test vehicle shows how much equipment the higher trims can add, including power sliding doors, power folding third-row seats, front and rear sunroofs, navigation with live traffic, and a rear-seat entertainment system. If you want the most family-friendly feature set, the upper trims are the ones to compare most closely.
- Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 makes 266 hp and works with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The setup is described as smooth, broad-shouldered, and capable of towing up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.
- Safety package: Most versions can be optioned with blind-spot monitoring, and the test vehicle also had cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and Pre-Collision System. Safety Connect is reserved for the most expensive Limited model.
- Infotainment: The Sienna uses a 7-inch display with Entune, plus a premium JBL audio system, navigation, advanced voice recognition, USB 2.0 fast-charge ports, and smartphone-connected apps. The rear-seat entertainment system can play DVD or Blu-Ray content and includes HDMI input jacks.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimate is 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, with 21 mpg combined. The test vehicle returned 20.1 mpg in real-world driving.
Which 2015 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?
The 2015 Toyota Sienna is offered in 1 trim level: Limited Premium.
Here's the short version:
The Limited Premium: is the fully loaded choice, and it’s the one that shows off the Sienna’s strongest family-hauling and tech features. You get the most complete equipment list here, including power sliding doors, power folding third-row seats, front and rear sunroofs, navigation with live traffic, and the rear-seat entertainment setup. If you want the best-value path, this is the trim that most clearly delivers the Sienna’s upscale side, though it also carries the highest price.
Safety content also notes that Safety Connect is reserved for the most expensive Limited model, so that’s another reason to pay close attention to trim when shopping.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Sienna?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, compare, and wait for the right listing.
- Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 956 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 52.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $14,731, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Toyota Sienna's resale value?
The current average of $15,567 sits slightly above last year's $15,448.
That kind of stability suggests the Sienna has held its value reasonably well in the near term. For a future seller, that means you’re not looking at a sharply weakening market, which can help preserve your exit price if you buy well and keep the van in good condition. The steady trend also makes timing less critical than condition and mileage when you eventually resell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Toyota Sienna safe?
The 2015 Sienna earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota equips the Sienna with blind-spot monitoring on most versions, plus cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and Pre-Collision System on the test vehicle. The safety story is strong overall, but the IIHS small-overlap frontal-crash result is only Acceptable, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is your top priority. Safety Connect is also limited to the most expensive Limited model.
Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 52.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 brings major safety and handling upgrades that make it the strongest Sienna yet.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $12,987, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $15,567 average.
- It emphasizes practical utility and a comfortable second-row lounge setup.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $17,616, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $15,567 average.
- It adds Siri Eyes Free for iPhone users and a stronger voice-control story.
The bottom line: If you want the best all-around version of this minivan, the 2015 is the one to target. If your budget matters more than the newest upgrades, the 2014 can save you money, while the 2016 is worth considering if Siri Eyes Free is a must-have and you’re willing to pay more.
