How much does the 2015 Chevrolet Impala cost?

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated car with an expert score of 7/10. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, roomy interior, stylish design, reliability, and comfort. That makes the Impala a strong fit if you want a full-size family sedan that feels relaxed on the road and comfortable for long drives.

The market also shows 27.7% of listings as good or great deals, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability and comfort as recurring strengths, and owners describe it as a favored choice for long-term ownership. The expert drive notes also describe the car as predictable and consistent, which reinforces the sense that it’s easy to live with over time.

The ownership picture is helped by the fact that quality and reliability are described as slightly better than average, and the car’s long-term ownership costs are projected to be average. For used buyers, the main risk is less about outright dependability and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and proper maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Chevrolet Impala?

At 54.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on body condition, tire wear, and signs of prior repair work, since accident history can affect both long-term durability and resale value.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard engine is a 4-cylinder, while the 2LT and 2LTZ bring the V6. The interior is described as busy, and the more expensive versions are the ones that unlock the stronger engine and a more appealing overall package.
• Powertrain: The available 3.6-liter V6 makes 305 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque, and the 6-speed automatic is the only transmission. The car is described as quick for a mainstream full-size sedan and capable of confident passing and freeway merging.
• Safety package: The Advanced Safety Package includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward-collision warning. The most expensive version can also be paired with adaptive cruise control and front automatic braking.
• Infotainment: MyLink infotainment, OnStar services, and 4G LTE Wi-Fi are part of the tech story, along with three USB ports and support for Pandora and text-message readout. The system is described as easy to pair and use.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says to expect between 18 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, depending on configuration. The expert review also notes that fuel economy trails the class averages.

Which 2015 Chevrolet Impala trim should I buy?

The 2015 Chevrolet Impala is offered in 3 trim levels: LS, 2LT, 2LTZ.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, but it comes with the standard 4-cylinder engine. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the V6 upgrade.
• 2LT: This is the best-value choice because it unlocks the satisfying V6 and adds the stronger all-around driving experience without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• 2LTZ: This is the most upscale version and suits you if you want the most fully equipped Impala, but it costs the most.

The safety package is available on other versions, while the most expensive version can be paired with adaptive cruise control and front automatic braking.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Chevrolet Impala?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 553 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,523, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?

The current average of $10,842 sits slightly below last year's $11,627.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you’re thinking about resale, the best strategy is to buy well, keep the car clean, and choose a well-equipped trim that will stay appealing to future shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Chevrolet Impala safe?

The 2015 Chevrolet Impala earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and a Good rating in the moderate overlap frontal impact and side impact tests from IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The car includes 10 airbags and offers an Advanced Safety Package with blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward-collision warning. The most expensive version can also be equipped with adaptive cruise control and front automatic braking.

One caveat is that the forward-collision warning system is described as too sensitive and loud, while the blind-spot monitoring system is too quiet and difficult to detect.

Should I buy a 2015 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a roomy cabin, smooth ride, and strong tech with a predictable, easygoing driving feel.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,040, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $10,842 average.
• It stands out for styling, premium-feeling materials, and a more upscale cabin than many rivals.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around package, the 2015 is the better primary choice because it balances comfort, technology, and owner satisfaction. If your budget is tighter and you’re willing to give up some of the 2015’s market advantages, the 2014 is the better price-sensitive alternative.
