How much does the 2015 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 6.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,356 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing options.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2015 BMW 3 Series earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its solid build quality, impressive handling, luxurious interior, and smooth driving experience. The overview also points to a sport-luxury sedan with a tight, precise chassis and a powerful engine, which fits buyers who want a premium daily driver with real driving enjoyment.

The market also shows 34.0% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly describes the car as solidly built and enjoyable to live with, and it also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience for many drivers. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by emphasizing the car’s strong chassis and well-executed driving dynamics.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that higher-mileage examples may need closer attention to maintenance history and wear-related issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

At 53% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on condition, prior repairs, and signs of deferred maintenance, since the used market includes a meaningful number of cars with accident history.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The car is offered with a wide range of equipment, from basic setups to leather, navigation, connectivity options, heated front seats, parking assistance, and M-badged interior touches. Base versions can feel sparse compared with better-equipped trims, so you should pay close attention to which convenience and luxury features are included.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, a 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder, and a 2.0-liter turbodiesel 4-cylinder, with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive available. Efficiency varies widely, and the smallest engine with an 8-speed automatic is the most efficient gas setup mentioned.
• Safety package: BMW includes standard antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags, and emergency notification systems. Driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, lane-departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: BMW’s ConnectedDrive system is straightforward, and the navigation upgrade adds a larger screen and heads-up display. Bluetooth audio streaming, satellite radio, and some camera features may require separate packages, so check carefully for feature gaps.
• Fuel efficiency: The smallest engine with an 8-speed automatic returns 24 mpg city/36 highway/28 combined, while the diesel is rated at 32/45/37. All-wheel drive reduces mileage by roughly 5 percent across models.

Which 2015 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series is offered in 3 trim levels: 320, 328, and 335.

Here's the short version:

• 320: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core 3 Series experience at the lowest cost. It uses the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, but the performance notes say it can feel underpowered in some situations, so it makes the most sense if you want the badge and chassis feel first and foremost.
• 328: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers. It adds a noticeable power bump over the 320, and the expert notes describe it as the ideal balance for plenty of buyers looking at the 3 Series.
• 335: This is the performance pick. It brings the 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder and the strongest acceleration in the lineup, so it suits you best if driving enjoyment matters more than fuel economy or purchase price.

BMW also offers driver-assist packages with blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, and Active Driving Assistant, so check whether the car you’re considering has the safety equipment you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,356 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,255, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $10,327 sits slightly below last year's $10,987.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can be a mixed signal for future resale. If you buy now, you may be entering at a more favorable price point than last year’s shoppers did.

For a future seller, that means your upside may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market appreciation. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still draw attention, but the overall trend points to a value-conscious segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, including five-star ratings in side collision and rollover crash tests, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it high marks in all crash tests except the small-overlap front test, which earned a marginal rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW includes standard antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags, and emergency notification systems if a crash is detected. Available driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, lane-departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control.

The main caveat is the marginal small-overlap front result, so you should pay close attention to crash history and repair quality on any used example.

Should I buy a 2015 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert testing describes it as a sport-luxury sedan with a tight chassis and powerful engine.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,011, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $10,327 average.
• It emphasizes balanced handling and refined everyday driving.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,647, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $10,327 average.
• It leans harder into sports-car-like performance while staying practical.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, satisfaction, and driving enjoyment, the 2015 is the primary pick. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is the value alternative; if you want a more performance-focused direction, the 2016 is the upgrade path.
