How much does the 2018 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 6.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,189 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the impressive performance, smooth handling, and enjoyable driving experience, while the model’s versatile setup and premium-feeling cabin make it appealing if you want a used luxury sedan that feels engaging rather than merely comfortable. For shoppers who value driving enjoyment, premium features, and a wide range of configurations, it fits that use case well. 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling driving experience, with praise for smooth handling and strong performance that many drivers feel confident living with over time. That said, the car’s complexity means long-term ownership can still bring higher maintenance risk than a simpler used sedan, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

At 55.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the car’s overall condition, especially signs of wear that could point to expensive future maintenance. Pay close attention to how the car drives, because a clean, well-kept example is especially important on a complex used luxury sedan.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,189 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.25% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,805, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $14,817 sits slightly below last year's $15,804.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, a well-kept example with strong documentation should hold up better than one with unclear history or deferred maintenance. The model’s broad appeal and premium reputation can still support demand when the car is presented well.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $19,962, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $14,817 average.
• It adds a sharper software-focused update and a more modern digital feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2018 is the primary path because pricing is softer and inventory is broad. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer-feeling tech experience, the 2019 is the secondary path for buyers who prioritize that upgrade over price.
