How much does the 2018 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 5.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,205 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2018 BMW 3 Series earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance, ride quality, powerful acceleration, and smooth handling, and the model’s compact luxury-sedan setup makes it appealing if you want a car that feels practical and engaging. The tradeoff is that the cabin can feel cramped and some shoppers may want more luxury features, but the overall package fits buyers who value driving enjoyment and premium character. With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centered on smooth handling and a satisfying driving experience. Mentions of the absence of a spare tire and tire sensor concerns suggest you should still pay attention to condition and maintenance history. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the driving experience and more about how well the car has been cared for over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, signs of repair, and any wear that could affect long-term ownership costs. Because this model can be expensive to maintain, you’ll want to pay close attention to overall condition rather than just mileage or trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,205 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,801, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $14,939 sits slightly below last year's $15,847.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future resale a little more challenging if depreciation continues at the same pace. If you buy at a strong price and keep the car in excellent condition, you give yourself a better chance of limiting losses later. Strong demand for well-liked trims can still help, but the current trend favors buyers more than sellers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $20,012, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $14,939 average.
• BMW adds a stronger software experience.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2018 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and a decent share of deal-priced listings. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer feel and a more advanced digital experience, the 2019 is the better upgrade path. For most price-sensitive buyers, the 2018 is the more compelling buy.
