How much does the 2018 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 8.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,179 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.53/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance, smooth handling, and enjoyable ride quality, while the 2018 model’s compact luxury-sedan setup makes it a fit if you want a driver-focused car with a premium feel. The main tradeoffs are a cramped interior and higher ownership costs, so it works best if driving enjoyment matters more than maximum space or low running costs. With 35.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.53/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free experience for many drivers, with praise centered on the car’s smooth handling and strong performance over time. That said, this is a complex luxury sedan, so long-term ownership risk is still tied to maintenance discipline and how well the car was cared for before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that knows luxury sedans. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and any signs of deferred upkeep, since the car’s complexity can make neglected examples more expensive to own.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 BMW 3 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,179 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,748, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $14,971 sits slightly below last year's $16,379.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can limit how much room there is for further depreciation if you buy well. For a future seller, the key will be condition and documentation, since well-kept examples should stand out more in a market where buyers can compare many listings. Strong maintenance history matters even more for a premium sedan like this, because shoppers tend to reward cars that look cared for and feel ready to drive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.53/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.53/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $20,469, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $14,971 average.
• It adds more modern software and a fresher digital feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and there are enough listings to shop selectively. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling cabin experience and updated software, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
