How much does the 2015 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 7.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,363 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 7.5/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise the solid build quality, impressive handling, and luxurious interior, while also highlighting the smooth driving experience. In use-case terms, this is the kind of sedan that fits you best if you want something more engaging than merely comfortable, even if it asks more of your budget and attention than a typical commuter.

The market still shows 31.5% good or great deals, so there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to solid build quality and a car that many drivers feel good about living with over time. The expert driving notes also emphasize the car’s precise chassis and strong overall engineering feel, which supports confidence in day-to-day dependability.

BMW’s cost-effectiveness notes also suggest this is not a low-commitment ownership proposition, so used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance history and any signs of wear before buying.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

At 54.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or a long service gap. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s maintenance records match the premium ownership experience you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The available equipment ranges from basic to leather, M-badged interior touches, navigation and connectivity options, heated front seats, and parking assistance, so base cars can feel much less equipped than higher-spec versions.
• Powertrain: You can choose among a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder, a 3.0-liter turbo 6-cylinder, and a 2.0-liter turbodiesel, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and fuel economy that varies widely by setup.
• Safety package: Active Driving Assistant includes lane-departure warnings and adaptive cruise control, while other driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring plus rear- and top-view cameras.
• Infotainment: ConnectedDrive is straightforward, and the available navigation upgrade adds a larger screen and heads-up display, while Bluetooth audio streaming and other features may require separate equipment.

Which 2015 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series is offered in 3 trim levels: 320, 328, 335.

Here's the short version:

• 320: This is the entry point, but the 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder can feel underpowered in some situations, so it makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup and can live with modest performance.
• 328: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because the extra power makes the car feel much more balanced without jumping all the way to the top-end price and character.
• 335: This is the enthusiast choice, with the 3.0-liter turbo 6-cylinder delivering the strongest performance and the most rewarding driving experience.

There are no optional safety systems, but driver-assist packages are available, including blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, and Active Driving Assistant.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards patience and comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,363 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,282, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $10,282 sits slightly below last year's $11,140.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the car well maintained, you can reduce the impact of further depreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, including five stars in side collision and rollover crash tests, while the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it high marks in all crash tests except the small-overlap front crash, which earned a marginal rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW includes standard antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags for driver and passenger, and emergency notification systems if a crash is detected. Available driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, and Active Driving Assistant with lane-departure warnings and adaptive cruise control.

The small-overlap front result is the main caveat to keep in mind when you’re evaluating this car’s safety profile.

Should I buy a 2015 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary says the car still delivers the classic BMW driving feel, but now faces tougher competition.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,070, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $10,282 average.
• It emphasizes deft handling and silky engines in a refined four-door body.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,780, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $10,282 average.
• It leans harder into sports-car-like performance while staying practical for four people.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2015 if you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is the value play; if you want a more performance-forward version and can spend more, the 2016 is the upgrade path.
