Summary
With 214 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,454, 28.5% of 2014 Toyota Venzas for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Toyota Venza 4.6 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.17 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2014 Toyota Venza stands out for bringing more style and flair than most of Toyota’s other vehicles, which gives this crossover a more distinctive look than many buyers might expect. It is also described as roomy, comfortable, safe, and stylish, making it an appealing choice for shoppers who want a practical vehicle without giving up a more polished personality.
That appeal comes with a few tradeoffs. The 2014 Toyota Venza lacks modern safety technologies, and its cabin is described as inexpensively trimmed. Even so, the overall impression is that it represents money well spent, especially for buyers who value comfort and space. The available V6 engine is singled out as the upgrade to choose, suggesting that it is the version most likely to satisfy drivers who want the Venza at its best.

Would buy again. - Our Venza was purchased on first sight. Our family unanimously loved the styling and practical, comfortable dimensions.(and rich color) It is the vehicle of choice for long trips or carrying bulky items. Toyota quality is evident in fit, finish, operation, dealer service, actually everything. This is our second Venza, our first, an '09 had a problem with the AWD which was resolved, although it made odd noises after the repair that reapperared periodically. Acceleration is brisk with the V6, but the 4 is adequate. The mileage is close, so we picked the reserve power the V6 provides. The 4 requires synthetic oil be warned. Handling is secure for a bulky vehicle, with very short stops with the 4 antilock disc brakes and low profile tires. The 20" alloy wheels give the Venza an aggressive look we like, just watch those curbs or the wheels will rash easily. The cabin is quiet and chock full of conveniences like dual climate control, auto dimming xenon headlamps, navigation with rear camera, bluetooth cell linking, heated seats, a huge console, and remote power tailgate. New for the limited, electrically folding mirrors and auto seat and steering make entry and exits easier. With all the safety features, great crash rating, airbags front and side, dual sunroofs, more legroom in back than front, reclining rear seats, this is a very passenger friendly vehicle. Now that the bugs have been worked out, we can recommend the Venza, and would purchase it again.

The earlier design of the Toyota Venza is a roomy, elegant vehicle. The Limited version has everything that you could want in your car. This is a sturdy, recognizable crossover that has loads of room for your luggage and drives quietly for long trips. Highly recommend it!

How much does the 2014 Toyota Venza cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,460 |
| Year-Round Low | $11,650 |
| Year-Round High | $12,616 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $12,297 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +1.32% |
Prices are up 1.32% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 214 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.
Is the 2014 Toyota Venza a good car?
Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 6.17/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.
Drivers consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and stylish design, and they also highlight the comfortable ride and rich features. That lines up with the overview’s focus on a roomy, comfortable crossover that still brings more style and flair than many practical family vehicles. For you, that means the Venza makes the most sense if you want a useful daily driver or road-trip vehicle without giving up a more polished personality.
28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to find a competitive offer.
Is the 2014 Toyota Venza reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback also points to reliability, and the review summary describes the Venza as dependable enough that many drivers value it for long trips and everyday use.
The expert review reinforces that impression by calling out the Venza’s strong value and noting that Toyota supplies free maintenance and roadside assistance for the first two years or 25,000 miles of ownership. It also says the model enjoys the best possible rating for dependability from J.D. Power.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear and prior maintenance history matter more now than they did when the vehicle was new.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Venza?
At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has any accident history or visible cosmetic wear. Focus on condition details that matter on an older crossover: tire wear, wheel damage, cabin wear, and evidence of uneven maintenance. If you plan to keep the Venza for a while, a clean service record matters as much as the asking price.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The LE is the standard trim, while the XLE adds leather, Smart Key passive entry, navigation with advanced voice recognition, Entune App Suite services, HD Radio, iTunes song-tagging capability, a reversing camera, a power tailgate, heated front seats, a 4-way power front passenger seat, and memory settings for the driver’s seat and mirrors. The Limited adds a panoramic glass sunroof, a larger 7-inch high-resolution infotainment touchscreen, a premium JBL audio system, front and rear parking-assist sensors, automatic HID headlights with automatic high-beam operation, LED running lights, larger 20-inch aluminum wheels, and a standard V6 engine. The XLE is the best-value trim if you want a strong equipment upgrade without going all the way to Limited.
- Powertrain: The standard engine is a 181-hp, 2.7-liter 4-cylinder, and a more powerful 268-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 is available in LE and XLE trims and standard on Limited. The V6 adds 87 horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque, and the fuel-economy penalty is only a single mpg in combined driving.
- Safety package: The Venza comes standard with a driver’s knee airbag and blind-spot side-mirror designs. A reversing camera is optional on the LE and standard on the XLE and Limited, while the Limited also adds front and rear parking-assist sensors. The model does not offer blind-spot information, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, or Safety Connect telematics.
- Infotainment: The standard touchscreen is 6.1 inches, and the Limited upgrades to a larger 7-inch high-resolution infotainment touchscreen. Smartphone pairing for music and calls is easy enough, and navigation is included on higher trims.
- Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive 4-cylinder averaged 25.7 mpg over more than 700 miles, and the EPA highway rating is 26 mpg. The V6 is also rated at 26 mpg on the highway.
Which 2014 Toyota Venza trim should I buy?
The 2014 Toyota Venza is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, Limited.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Venza’s core space, comfort, and style at the lowest starting price. Because the reversing camera is optional here, you should check whether a specific listing has it before you buy.
- XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the biggest everyday upgrades: leather, Smart Key, navigation, Entune App Suite, heated front seats, memory settings, and a reversing camera. If you want the strongest mix of comfort and convenience without paying for the top trim, this is the one to target.
- Limited: This is the fully loaded choice, with the panoramic sunroof, larger touchscreen, premium JBL audio, parking-assist sensors, and standard V6 engine. Buy this if you want the most features and don’t mind paying more for them.
The Limited trim also brings the most complete safety and convenience package, including the parking-assist sensors.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Venza?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have some leverage if you shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 214 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.32% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 55.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,650, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Toyota Venza's resale value?
The current average of $12,460 sits slightly above last year's $12,297.
That modest increase suggests the Venza has held value reasonably well for a used crossover of this age. The current pricing trend also shows that demand has not fallen off sharply, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition. For a future seller, a clean history and strong maintenance record should matter a lot because shoppers in this segment tend to compare condition closely.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2014 Toyota Venza safe?
The 2014 Venza earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and a Good rating from IIHS.
It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.
The Venza comes standard with a driver’s knee airbag and blind-spot side-mirror designs. A reversing camera is optional on the LE and standard on the XLE and Limited, while the Limited also offers front and rear parking-assist sensors. The model does not include blind-spot information, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, or Safety Connect telematics.
One important caveat is that IIHS has not evaluated the Venza’s small-overlap frontal-impact crash protection levels, so you should not assume modern crash-performance coverage across every test category.
Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Venza or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 28.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.32% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The expert review says to upgrade to the optional V6 engine for the best experience.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $13,255, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $12,460 average.
- It adds a more explicit value pitch while also heading toward discontinuation.
The bottom line: If you want the better price today, the 2014 is the smarter path, especially if you can find a clean, well-maintained example with the right trim. If you are willing to spend more for a slightly newer model, the 2015 is the secondary path for buyers who want to compare pricing before deciding.
