Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Porsche 911 4.42 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2014 Porsche 911 stands out because it combines the model’s signature rear-engine layout with the kind of performance that has made the 911 an icon for decades. In the buying guide, Porsche describes the 911 as one of the most recognizable sports cars ever made, and the seventh-generation version is noted for its distinctive shape, its rear-engine powertrain placement, and its reputation for strong all-around performance. That same generation also brought a more modern feel than earlier cars, though the steering change away from hydraulic assistance reduced some of the feedback that enthusiasts value.
For 2014 specifically, the 911 lineup expanded with the Turbo, Turbo S, GT3, a new Targa, and a 50th Anniversary edition. The Turbo used a 3.8-liter engine with 520 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque, while the Turbo S increased output to 560 horsepower and 516 pound-feet. The GT3 brought a naturally aspirated engine rated at 475 horsepower and 325 pound-feet, and it was offered only with rear-wheel drive and either a seven-speed PDK or a six-speed manual. Those figures help explain why the 2014 911 appeals to buyers who want serious speed, but the guide also makes clear that the car’s limited passenger and cargo space, along with its high price and maintenance costs, remain part of the ownership tradeoff.
Owners’ comments reinforce that appeal, with praise centered on the car’s power, driving dynamics, reliability, and engine sound. At the same time, some owners mention concerns about interior cleanliness, transmission issues, and the need for spare parts, which fits the 911’s image as a rewarding but expensive sports car to own.

The car is a significant upgrade from my 997.1. The car is quick, and I love the sound from the engine. First PDK, but love it. The best balance of performance and convenience. The styling is phenomenal. Great value for the overall car. Love it!!

Purchased a 2014 911 Carrera coupe from a private seller off of Cargurus. It’s an amazing piece of machinery and purchase price was extremely reasonable for what was originally a 100k car. Love the manual transmission although I don’t really ever use 7th gear so in my opinion the extra gear isn’t really necessary. Overall it’s the best driving, sounding and looking car I have ever owned!

This car is spectacular. I currently own a similar 2012 model and the 2014 includes several small but noticeable improvements. Cant go wrong with it.

How much does the 2014 Porsche 911 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $111,819 |
| Year-Round Low | $100,336 |
| Year-Round High | $116,895 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $100,259 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +11.53% |
Prices are up 11.53% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 351 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2014 Porsche 911 a good car?
Generally — the 4.42/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the 2014 Porsche 911 for its outstanding power, impressive driving dynamics, and engine sound, and many also highlight its reliability. The overview also frames it as a model for buyers who want serious performance in a recognizable sports car, while accepting limited passenger and cargo space and higher ownership costs. With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Porsche 911 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.42/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner summary specifically calls out reliability alongside the car’s power and performance, and it also describes the 911 as a true supercar that many owners enjoy over time. That said, some owners mention transmission concerns and the need for spare parts, so used buyers should expect a sports car that can be rewarding but may carry higher long-term ownership risk than a mainstream car.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Porsche 911?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for accident damage, transmission behavior, and signs of deferred maintenance. Pay close attention to interior condition and evidence of spare-parts or repair needs, since owner feedback points to those as areas worth scrutinizing. Because this is a high-performance car with expensive upkeep, condition matters as much as mileage.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Porsche 911?
This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

- Price trend: Prices are up 11.53% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 77.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $100,336, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Porsche 911's resale value?
The current average of $111,819 sits slightly above last year's $100,259.
That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. The combination of strong owner satisfaction and steady demand is a favorable sign for future sellers, especially if the car has clean history and strong maintenance records. Because the 911 remains desirable, well-kept examples should continue to attract attention.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.42/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2014 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices are up 11.53% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.42/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
The bottom line:
The 2014 is a strong choice if you want this generation’s performance, owner satisfaction, and a market with enough inventory to shop carefully. If your priority is value, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-priced, clean-history example rather than chasing a specific badge or trim. For price-sensitive buyers, the best path is to target the lowest clean listings and move quickly when one appears below the low end of the range.
