Clogged cat??? Ignition module??? coil??? bad injector??? knock sensor???

Try cleaning the Mass Air Sensor, it's located on the engine side of the Air Cleaner. The MAS senses the airflow and signals the Engine Control Unit when and how much to fire the Fuel Injectors. A dirty MAS can cause fouled plugs due to too much gas being injected. Buy some CRV, Mass Air Sensor cleaner at a Auto Prats store. Don't use Carb Cleaner as this will damage the plastic holding the PLATINUM probes. Don't touch the probes. This is a $7-8 fix and takes about 15 min to do. Good Luck

Had the same problem .... discovered that some plug wires have long boots and some are short ones .... the spark travels down the boot on the rubber and shorts on any metal and especially of they are old or dirty ... so wires with short boots and a bit of dialectric grease just on the inside edge not right inside, same for coil. Fixed it for a while ..... Next problem was same thing again - a miss under load accelerating or pulling and lots of ping ..... but the engine runs fine at idle or a light load once the truck is moving .... Ford says plug gap is .42 to .46..... remove all plugs and gap them to .40 to .42 Miss all gone and engine runs beautiful now, starts prompt, idles nice and has lots of power. Another problem I encountered was the coil tends to short across the top, spray with water in the dark and see a lightning storm... And before I found that was the cause, plug gap .... I did all the rest, new everything like egr, plugs, wires etc...and cleaned everything like maf sensor and intake, idle control valve etc ..that might be a problem....

1993 Ford Ranger is missing-2.3 motor Replaced 8 plugs 8 wires, and both coils and still misses, has no power, it starts. It started to run good after putting the plugs and wires in but then started missing again then put in the new coil packs and still missing.
