What I have found in today's market is most new vehicles, due to the demand and shortages right now vehicles are selling for MSRP at a min. If the vehicle is a high demand vehicle, dealers are selling vehicles above MSRP. I know some selling for $3K to $10K more. I personally would not pay more than MSRP. While small cars are selling quickly due to high fuel prices, trucks and large SUV's are sitting on the lots a tad longer, so there may be a chance you can pay less. Contact your GMC dealer and see if you can work a deal, it doesn't hurt to ask, but I would expect no more than a grand or two lower.

The used car market has softened a little today. A few months ago, you'd be paying at least ten grand more than MSRP for this popular truck, and there might be people behind you willing to pay more. Today, you might be the only one interested, but there will still be a premium of about five grand. If you can wait a year, you might be able to get this for MSRP.

I would hold off buying it right now. If anything should go wrong with it(and things happen) parts are almost impossible to get from a dealer, I have been waiting for a BCM for over 6 months as of the end of July and still nothing in sight some some of my accessories don't work like trailer tow button or select shift, it's really madding.
