1995 3.8 mustang torque converter
well I recently messed up my converter on one of my 1995 3.8 mustangs its all stock got it not too long ago so I went and ordered a recon fm 69 hi stall 12.7 dia stall speed 1900-2200-140k want to know if any one has one or a converter of the same stall speed as this if so I would like to no what I will be expecting any comments will be appreaciated thanks
Why would want to put a high stall converter on an unmodified 3.8? You are going to experience a driveabality problem you most likely won't like with a stall speed that high, and if I remember it correctly the trans has a lockup mode for the stock converter that usually drops engine rpm below the high stall threshold. Then there is the ECM programming that you will have to contend with.
cause I got a extreamley good deal on it paid 100 $ cash brand new 3 year warnty at my local shop something someone never picked up so I bought it I got one in my other 1995 3.8 mustang but that one has got all the goodies 410 gears ,alburn posi track ,trans go hd2 shift kit, high lift cam ,underdrive pullys,,cai, bbk throtal body, throtal body spacer, block 30 over after market ford racing heads, custom plenum, super chip in the computer etc I was just wondering wat it would be like in a stock car the one I have in my beefed up 3.8 is a 2800 to 3200 stall, this one is 1900 to 2200 I believe the stock 1995 3.8 mustang stalls out at 1400 to 1600 with foot break test thank u for ur anser
