Question type: Maintenance & Repair

so i have a 1995 mustang gt and i was putting an after market radio in bc mine
broke and the car worked perfectly fine and we were on cutting and splicing the
wires that went into the radio so why wont my car start or even turn over for that
matter?

Sounds like you have activated the security system. The disarming procedure is listed in the owners manual. But be warned it may not work due to an aftermarket radio head unit, if this happens you will need the dealer to reset the security system without radio protection as it is not factory.

i dont have the security system equipped in my car. so what else could possibly have made my car from not being able to even turn over is there a wire that connected to the radio that is somehow connected to the engine????

If your sure it doesn’t have a security system, then check for blown main fuses or fuse links. There is no wire to the radio that makes a connection to the crank/run circuit.

so i got it running by connecting the old radio back in but now it takes like 4-5 times of trying to turn the key b4 it starts and now my 4 ways and running lights are constantly on...???

Then you need to get a wiring diagram of the vehicle and start tracing down circuits. I suspect you have a power wire cross connected with radio illumination circuit.
