searching for an impact inertia switch....if the power to the pump has completely shut-off...there is an ASD automatic shut-down relay that will drop out too, if the car thinks a fire will ensue~

1 people found this helpful.

those chimps don't speak Mechanic either...as a Draftsman was proficient at ANSI Y-14.5 and could make any drawing using this standard...in practice NO ONE demanded this level of expertise....crayon on cardboard drawn by the shipping guy...did just fine....uuurgh~ stopped being a draftsman in 2001~

i think i am going to have to find a code reader.. to see which fuel injectors to replace if not all... however this has sooo helped me to not have to try all the tiny lil stuff that is still good and not the issue as i see alot of people have issues with this car noone has ever said how they fixed the issue???

1 people found this helpful.
445

ummm... is pulling fuel injectors from another typer vehicle that uses same injectors that may be just fine a ok idea?? or is it just as decent to not spend all day doing that and just order them? in case after all it may not be them injectors as i hear so many others with the same fuel issues ...???

1 people found this helpful.

....okay, never known an injector to be faulty....perhaps can be clogged with rust particles...BUT the fuel filter should have caught all that to perhaps a 30 micron level of filtration~...so don't bother with a "franken-car" results will NOT be acceptable at best~

buying the code reader good thing to have for most usually anything i suppose and i am so new to the shopping via screen view and card swipe lol i cant touch feel inspect but i am learning so 15 bux for the reader and i am thinking 162 for a set of 6 injectors same pic as auto zone wants 275 for will have to do...... i was thinking i did not want to replace what may work fine... seeing as i dont have a real mechanic just a guy i once dated a million yrs ago whos father made him work on cars and learn a lil something.. all the while teaching my son to work on his own cars notice whats wrong or right with a car you drive and such ahhh i appreciate the helpful things you have mentioned... the car we grabbed had been sitting about a year we live in the desert as the photo displays .... and a summer of extreme heat... it just needs to run like a good car should 10-15 miles a day ....

so far fuel pump is new, filter, and separator... also got a new fuel pump relay cause it was cheap ... did a tune up, the ecm is fine and the only other thing mentioned anywhere was the injectors so i guess the code thinga magiggy will have to do.... i am sad i didnt mean for this to be such a project i am sad i rarely make such bad desicions its a good car tho body, etc cared for ... my 18 yr old son is sad he thought he would be out driving today

pull the injectors and spray "gumout" seeing as the fuel system is VARNISH by now...drain the tank and use fresh gasoline...the expensive 91 or 93 octane stuff...change out the fuel filter....run the old stuff out of there capturing it in a fuel can and make sure "fresh" fuel only to the injectors...clean them with gumout~

445

and in the buying of the infamous code scanner.... all i see is scanners that work with cars 96 and newer.... xcept these dino looking gm readers that show via the check engine dash??? gosh golly .....

...weil there "should be" a diagnostic port OBD-II within three feet of the ignition switch....sorry did not check to see if this scanner will work....okay, what you have to do now is count the number of flashes with a certain diagnostic jumper in place....refer to your owners manual to find out how to do this~....and what the number of flashes actually means~

does the car run at all?

1 people found this helpful.
445

Trying to make a car run is making me want to get my Shotgun... lol but as yet i still own no property so Treason is not worth the struggle to gain a lil horse power ;) It starts it ran a few feet then my son says cut off... it started back drove a few feet and a corner then "cut off" which may mean stalled... in every realm it is speech that separates us all understanding of how speech is interpreted. :) i didnt wanna spend all day or break anything else so i had he moved by moved i mean flatbedded up to a friend of mine who always has helped me confirm things such as starter altenatoer... etc on my truck the 2000 explorer... trouble with locks its a questions i still have no answers too as well... lol ;) and so while immediate watch of what they think they think they know i was online doing reasearch and turns out this is a more frequent problem so instead of walk around the park i really need to drive thru the street others built you understand... ;) lol thanks so much for your time. The Queen has now arrisen and on the way to try to solve they mystery. Since taking to our dear friend who knows how to do work on cars ... we have got her st start and drive a few feet doesnt stay started longer than that. :(

445

oops i was trying to make this a pic on the left its been so long since i have used a computer, at home, i was used to an office environment for so long, and now Palm Springs has me trapped again in the Desperateness of the Desert ...

Sell the thing that makes you unhappy...shoppin' for a good used car at a cheesy white belt and plaid pants style guy...bought my favorites from these characters....you look sad...don't be sad, you aren't in the ICY mid-west, like I was 'till I boogied on out of there to live in Oakland for fifteen years...now with MS am alone in Clearlake, CA....the wife visits me twice a week....so I know about desperateness of the desert...I play bass...NO ONE here likes Jazz....no one here will play chess...it's an intellectual desert here~ go shoppin' with a pal to get the car you've always wanted...sure it will have some problems...but NOT these problems~ at least I've got the cargurus~

how many milesare on the car... also when you do have it running is there presure coming out of tailpipe? maybe converter is plugged? when you start it see if the coverters get red hot... im at work ill check back later.. hope this helps

Fuel pressure test kit how thw heck do u connect it

1 people found this helpful.

on the fuel rail (you know where that is) [upstream of the injectors] you will find a 'shroeder' valve {like the kind that bicycle tires use} push the tester onto that with the pump running to find the pressure 70 psi is a good pressure...less is okay too...depends on how high this injection system is supposed to work at - ---will have to research that...now my foods goin' cold.~

been thinkin' on your problem and most automotive problems start from insufficient system ground in the form of corrosion between the main 1/0 battery cable and the frame that it bolts to....have someone take out the bolt that holds that main cable onto the chassis and wirebrush the lug till shiny...at the place that it bolts to as well for a restored 12.5 volts ground potential~

how bout he he jumps the pump to see if it even turns on and if it does he knows its electrical if it does'nt he replaces the pump if its turning on and he has no pressure its a clogged filter a pinched line or gummed up injectors but homeboys right probably a bad ground to pump but go get a hand fulll of relays too there 20 years old they go bad ! and if it is a bad pump and stuff use lucas tune up in a bottle when you fill the tank back up
