Mine won't start, no fire at plugs, what can it be?

Just had this problem on my Sunbird. Have you checked the ignition coil?

I have a 1992 pontiac sunbird with a 3.1 v6 engine.My car would crank over but no spark at the plugs.The problem was the crankshaft sensor was bad.The crankshaft sensor is located on the firewall side of the engine just above the oil pan cover.Mine was hard to get out, the plastic on it was brittle and you only had enough room to get one hand in the hole to work on it.
