My 2016 Hyundai Veloster won't start

Asked by gilty1 May 27, 2023 at 01:42 PM about the 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Last night I removed the starter relay from my Hyundai V Turbo to prevent
theft.   I have done this before with my Sonata with no problem.  This
morning I reinstalled it and the car won't turn over.  Everything else on the car
works fine.  The key fob locks and unlocks the vehicle, etc, but when I step
on the brake and push the start button, nothing, not even a click.  Any ideas
before I have it towed to Hyundai?

Okay, so long story short, after checking everything, I found that one of the IG fuses had blown. Possibly from a surge when I plugged the Start relay back in....?

Could be , Like many things in todays world newer autos can't handle adversity

Often, when replacing a relay, you blow a fuse. I'd suspect the fuse that controls the starter motor or the alternator needs to be replaced.

BTW, buc, did you see the Indy 500 yesterday? I was in the infield at the red flag with 14 laps to go. When the second red flag went out, everyone was on the walls watching. Most interesting Indy 500 end I've seen in 65 years, and I saw Danny Sullivan's 4th turn spin just yards from the finish line in "85.
