What would cause my 94 sunbird to die while stopping at a red light unless i keep my feet on gas and brake at same time

Tune-up might be needed. Check the plugs, wires, filters. When were the injectors cleaned last? If the problem started suddenly after a fill-up, you might have a tank of ratty gas. Put some fuel cleaner in the tank and see if it clears up.
