1996 pontiac sunfire se

Please help im on ssdisability and dont have alot of money to fix my car
professionally but my son can work on my vechical but he is stumped car
quite running while driving down highway will crank over but wont start its
getting spark we can here the fuel pump running battery good and no service
light is on   so please please  any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Verify if your getting gas, could be something as simple as a fuel filter. There may be a stored code. If possible do a scan. Check the throttle body, butterfly may have excessive carbon build up. Make sure you have good air flow. Perhaps a dirty filter there. Check for spark again. Fouled plugs or one bad coil can cause all sorts of issues. Good Luck!
