low oil pressure when stopped
i have a 1999 firebird when on a cold start my gauge reads it has good pressure, but when the car warms up im reading zero and the check gauges light comes on. give the car gas and the light shuts off until I come to a stop again. bad oil pump? then
bad sending unit, bad oil pump, stuck pressure relief valve or worn bearings.
if it were the bearings would there be any other noises/signs I would be noticing or hearing?
Can we assume you are not just running with a low oil level and all it needs is to be topped off to bring the oil level up to normal?
Checking of the oil was first on the check list, but thanks for asking... jesus if only it were that easy..
could be sludge / build-up in the intake of the oil pump causing a clog.
