Wanna change to a different engine

I have a 2001 pontiac bonneville it has the 3.8 v6 2nd gen
engine it has 108000 miles n my motor went out what other
kind of motor can i put into it with out having to change all
kinds of things i would like to get the 3rd gen

Stick with another 3.8. It was a common engine with many uses in the GM family. Should be no problem sourcing a replacement, raw or refurbished, to fit your application.

It actually has low mileage and should have been a 300k engine. Keep the 3.8 as it was listed as one of the best in the GM line. Preventive Maintenance is the key. All filters, oils and fluids and the car will easily last 250k or more.
