2018 Subaru won't start after Hitch installation, battery charged

Yesterday we installed a hitch on my 2018 3.6R Subaru Outback. The
battery light came after I tried to start it after the car was put back together,
but started the second time.

After she started, the hatch wouldn't open and when driving was non-stop
beeping. Later tried to start it and batter was dead, or at least I thought.
Charged the battery over night and the car has zero power.

It sounds like the hitch installer messed up your cars wiring somehow.

Thanks! Took the battery out of the car, charged it again... put it back in and car started and the hitch opens! I did order a new battery... not sure if I need it, winter is coming though. Took a long drive to ensure the battery was getting charged. Now I'm letting it sit for awhile and will try starting it again soon.

The factory batteries are crap and may die at 2 years. I would get a quality battery like Optima or Interstate. Once I got an Optima battery I no longer had problems with my Forester.
