truck stalled n won't start

replaced alternator n battery. wouldn't start. used
screw driver under good n it started. did that for 3
days. now truck stalled n died. won't turn over with
screw driver n there's a clicking noise coming from
fuse box under hood

make sure the batt. terminals are tight , get a multi tester and look for 12.5 volts at the batt. and 14+ at the batt, if it starts , some bargain rebuilt starters and alts.' are junk out of the box , don't make a new alt charge a low batt.

I'm confused cause I was using a screw driver on solenoid to start. it was working. now I can't start it using the screwdriver. that's one issue. I know i need to get starter working properly I'm just curious why it was working with screwdriver n now it's not. the other issue is the truck ran for two days n now it stalls and dies. could the alternator I installed be bad... it's just confusing it worked for couple days
