Why do my 99 oldsmobile intrigue just shut off while driven

Too open-ended question to answer. It could be anything from an ignition switch to a gas problem .. Did itt start back up. was it over-heating did you have work done lately ....????? and on and on

Yes it will start up about a min or two sometimes a lil longer i had the fuelfliter change

Check the fuel tank vent or the EVAP canister to see if they are plugged up. Do you ever hear a bang from the gas tank after the engine dies and then the car will start? Your fuel pump may be pulling a vacuum and if the tank can't get air to replace the gas used, the pump can no longer get gas to the engine. Next time the car dies, remove the gas cap and see if it sucks air in. If the car starts immediately then you know what the problem is.
