subaru forester 2019

Asked by GuruKNCCV Dec 11, 2019 at 12:43 PM about the 2019 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premier AWD with EyeSight Package

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My battery went dead for no apparent reason. Had it charged and now its
fine. No light was left on.
1. What could have caused this to happen?
2. Also hatchback doesn't open. Called dealer and he said it needs to be
       reprogrammed.
3. What else needs to be reprogrammed?
3. Is there a way to manually open hatchback?

Take it right back to your local Subaru Dealer and let them fix it for free! Hope that helps! Jim

Probably the typical too small stock battery that Subaru installs. You can have Subaru replace the battery under warranty (possibly several times) or you can buy a good Optima battery and probably never have another problem.

No need to pay $$ for an optima, as a standard Group 25 Like the good Interstate at COSTCO for $80 works splendidly. To re-boot the hatch, simply lift it all the way up, then fully down (until it locks...a double-click), then try electronically.
