Why would their be ohms reading between ground and hot on my altama?
Hooking up a meter and measuring ohms (DC resistance) between ground and hot with the battery connected will in the very least blow the fuse on the meter and at most fry the multi-meter. Ohms, a measure of resistance is only actually measured with no power to the circuit or circuits. Perhaps you were intending to measure DC volts?
dry the battery wasn't connected. with the ground off the battery touched the ground leading to chassis and unplugged the two red wire's that plugged to hot post from either one of the red when touched to ground shows ohms but not the main wire that goes to battery
