I had an '02 Altima 3.5 SE, and have now upgraded to an '07 3.5 SE. My gas mileage with the '02 was about 10% higher, especially on in town driving, and moderately higher on the highway. Are there any
Are there any upgrades that can be added to improve the mileage. Generally the car is built better than in '02, although the Bose system is a little weak. Ride is better, and the appearance is better although the headroom in the back seat is reduced from the '02. The '07 runs quieter and seems to be much more solid. A fun car to drive!
First thing that popped in my mind is add a K&N air filter or complete air intake. They'll help you w/ fuel milage and maybe add some horsepower. Check their website to see what all they have available for your car (knairfilters.com). Now, your new '07 may be heavier or geared differently (even though I'm pretty sure you've got a CVT on that car) so that will make a difference. Can't think of anything else right off. If I do, I'll post again.
Thanks for your response Jason. A new air intake and exhaust system are a couple of the options I am exploring. Now it's a matter of whether the cost offsets the savings. Milt
