I have a 1994 Nissan Altima. It starts and idles fine. But it dies at stopsigns. It runs fine at highway speed. I just put a new distributor and timing chain on it. Any ideas?

Check for proper operation of the ISC (Idle Speed Controller) or IAC (Idle Air Controller) and the EGR valve. With ISC or IAC, I would go with the unit is not "disengaging" once the auto has warmed up. With EGR I would say it is clogged due to age, (once warm it would be "operating" during low speed operation) and not opening correctly.
