The Correct Placement of Under the Dash Relays

What is the correct under the dash placement of relays ?
Does it matter if they aren’t in the correct spot ? I replaced
the wireharness now it’s blowing black smoke An has a
terrible Miss ! It’s A 1997 Nissan PickUp 4X4

The fuse box is usually located under the dash panel, left of the steering wheel. If you had to relocated it for some reason, I don't think that would matter; but when you replaced the wire harness you may have crossed some wires to the box. I would double check and make sure they are in the correct position, because the vehicle did not have this problems before.
