Will it stay running if you give it some gas? If so it's either dirty/faulty idle air control valve or dirty throttle plate.

Ok but if you feather the gas while idling or are driving at highways speeds and turn them on does it still run ok till you slow to a stop or let off the gas?

Ok. Check your battery connections. Sounds like you have either a loose or dirty/corroded terminal or connection. Probably the negative one. Also check where the negative cable hooks to the frame and the motor. These need to be clean and tight also. Check the alternator connection also. Make sure you hooked all the cables back on the battery when you replaced it.
