I have a 1997 ford explorer the motor was going, before it stopped working the was reving high and low by its self, now it just wont start up again can some help me please,
could you pull your diagnostic codes? under twenty bucks from amazon...this would tell us where to begin...alas there are perhaps a dozen systems affected so that it'll get going again~
...any auto parts store will connect to your OBD-II connector and report...may be just P020 codes and such, but we can look them up then...and we will know where to begin...you may just take a looksee at your EGR valve (gonna have to look it up) it is not opening at the right time....right when you want POWER...it is supposed to back off upon deceleration....a dynamometer as provided by your smog mechanic would spot this in an instant~
that guy was NOT a mechanic...his tools were on the super-cheap...but he showed what a new EGR can do...dorky guy wins the day~
