oil for outback 3.6

Is it ok to use 0w 20m synthetic rather than 5w 30 conventional or synthetic in
thy 6 cylinder outback?

If Subaru specifies 5W30 there is NO WAY I would use 0 weight oil. Use synthetic though.

What does the owners manual specify? I'm sure it's synthetic oil....and depending on where you live makes a difference... just my opinion.

The manual wrote, " Your vehicle is designed to use 5W-30 conventional motor oil, however, 5W-30 synthetic may be used for optimum engine performance.".

I just noticed 2 or 3 months after service the local Subaru dealer put 0w20syn in my 3.6R limited. Manual specifies 5w30 regular or synthetic

I have 2019 3.6R Outback and I live in Canada and this is what Subaru Service Manual states The manufacturer’s required service intervals are every 10,000km or 6 months, whichever comes first. 0W20 Synthetic oil is required for 2018 model year 4 cylinder non-turbo engines (Legacy, Outback, Forester, Impreza, Crosstrek and BRZ). 5W30 Synthetic oil is required for all 2018 model year turbo engines. 5W30 Synthetic oil is recommended for 2018 model year six cylinder engines (Legacy and Outback
