do I need to replace the ECM when I replace bad coils?

Asked by PdxRyder Aug 12, 2018 at 11:34 PM about the 2005 Mazda Tribute s 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Check engine light is on, the error code is showing #5 coil is bad. I read that I
the bad coil most likely damaged the ECM and that I should replace the ECM
when I replace the coil or the ECM will damage the new coil.
