1998 ford expedition door lock

So i just bought this 98 expedition and
the automatic door locks are acting
funny, they dont work right on either
driver or passenger side i have to hift
the button repeatedly to get it unlocked
and most times it only comes up half
way untill i hit it repeatedly again for the
other half. Locking does the same thing
i have to hit it repeatedly and only
moves the locks a little bit each time.
What could cause this problem and
how can i fix it? Windows and
everything else work fine.

Most likely weak actuators, but you could try removing the interior door panels and lube all the actuators and see if that helps, but at this age they usually need replaced, and while your in there better lube the latch assemblies too before they quit working due to lack of servicing.

Sounds reasonable but if it was the actuators wouldnt that effect each door seperatly? Like wouldnt it be like one or two doors messed up not all of them the same? Not trying to doubt you or anything I know next to nothing about cars.

They are all the same age, they all work at the same time, I had a LTD that first the drivers door lock quit working so I replace the actuator on it and the very next day the passenger door lock quit working, same thing an actuator, then it wasn't four days later the right rear door lock quit. So within a month I replaced all 4 actuators. So you see my point they all seem to wear out almost at the same time.

Agh I see thank you, this might be a dumb question but is there a special lubricant I should use or would something like wd-40 work?

PB Blaster for the latch assemblies, and a light machinist oil or WD 40 on the actuators.
