2000 Lincoln LS codes

I have a 2000 LS V8 with 163K. I bought the car with check engine light on
but was told it was just an O2 sensor, and it ran well so I went through with it.
Scanned it a week ago and had the following codes: P0172 (bank 1 system
too rich), P0174 (bank 2 system too lean), P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire), P0304
(cylinder 4 misfire), and P1132 (lack of heated oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor
1 switch, indicates rich), the downstream sensor had been replaced so I'm
guessing the upstream one needs to be replaced now. I erased all codes to
see what would come back and they all did plus P0301 (cylinder 1 misfire)
and P0303 (cylinder 3 misfire). The car has no problem starting but does idle
rough and has the notorious misfire sound coming from the tailpipe.
However, it drives great, seems to have full acceleration and shifts on point. I
was just wondering why it is missing on only one side of the block? One
thing I noticed is the coil cover which bolts onto the valve cover is missing 3
of 6 bolts. Not sure if this plays any role but figured I'd mention it.

Could be coil(s), plugs, wires, sensors, fuel regulator, and so on. Give it a good tune up, clean and/or replace filters, clean filters like the MAF (with MAF cleaner only), clean throttle body. It sounds from your descrip the engine still has a lot of life, at least it's not showing signs of a blown head gasket or blow-by, but it does need some overdue maintenance.

Plugs,coil packs, all of them if it still is running lean after check the mass air flow sensor make sure you have the right air filter in and it’s clean this model “LS” is really dependent on the Map sensor to the point the car will missfire badly or not even start
