2018 Ford Escape AWD

I just bought a 2018 Ford Escape SEL with AWD. I want to tow it behind my RV
and the dealer told me I could flat tow it.  I would like to tow it with a dolly but
the manual says you have to put it up on a trailer.  Anyone have any
experience with this?

Believe the manual! The dealer will never stand behind what they told you.

NO, NO, NO....do not tow an AWD.....it will damage the transmission and transfer case. Not to mention the mechanical damage.....an AWD vehicle must have all 4 tires at the same tread wear also. Usually, only 32's of tread diff is allowed. Maybe need another vehicle if you want a cross country towable vehicle. Julie Smart...Smart Buy Tire, Inc.
