A pigtail is a wiring assembly. A plug with wires attached to them. You then use a pigtail assembly to replace the plug you need to replace and re wire in the stock position. Solder or decent crimps for the wiring.

Its a wiring connection made by twisting two bare wires together. After the two wires are mechanically sound, follow by soldering or crimping the two wires together to make a secure electrical connection.
