2004 Taurus won't accelerate and revs as if it were in neutral. Now I don't have any gears. What's the problem?
Was driving on the highway when I
suddenly couldn't accelerate. All it
would do was rev, getting up to the
5000s. Pulled over and turned off.
Now, I can't even move. I have about
120,000 miles with no prior
problems. I've heard it could be a
transmission problem, but I've also
heard that it could be a problem with
the solenoid. Help?
To me it sure sounds like your transmission is shot. First thing to do is check the fluid level, while the motor is running.
Thats a common problem on ford taurus from 2002 to 2007, the problem should be the torque converter, it has a gear inside that it always get broken. You will have to change it and believe me that should do it. If you have any other question let me know.
