Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My friend Nicole whayling has a 2004 Kia Rio RX-V and she is having problems with her gearstick and it's a
manual. when she is driving and she puts it in any gear after 1st, the gearstick will pop out of gear all of a sudden
and she has to hold it in reverse because it will pop out. She also says "It feels like I am driving a Tin can". it never
used to be like that because I have been in her car. do you guys know what the problem is with her Kia?

Thank you so much for your time and have a great weekend.

sincerely

There is probably an issue with the transmission. Could be a synrco problem, I would have it inspected by a reputable transmission shop. It's the first time I have heard of this happening in a Rio.

Thank you so much for the advice. I will pass that on to my friend when I see her. sometimes cars can be a real pain in the ass when it has problems but they purr like kittens when running perfectly. Thanks a billion. Sincerely Josh Chilcott
