1999 ford expedition starting problem

Ok so intially i went to recharge ac myself in my
mothers 99 expedition i had to take off a plate
under solinoid to get to the port so i did as so i
took the wires off the soloind to do so.. Well i didnt
see that there was a positive and ground that went
on same one or whatever so i dodnt connect the
ground back up and had my mom start the truck to
do ac and we were doimg it then all of a sudden
truck died and starting stinking kinda electrically
no smoke tho so i disconnected battery all that
redid the wire went to start it again and just
solinoid clicked nothing else so i got under it and
arched the starter and it starter but starter stayed
on ..i then today replaced the solinoid with a brand
new ome and is still clicking yet i can still arch the
starter hasnt had an issue b4 what could be
causing this i need help plz

Unless you change the complete unit and not just the coil you may have jammed the internal mechanism ... Crispy Kritters can be expensive
