1999 Expedition not blowing warm or hot air
I blast the defrost and/or the heat but it doesn't really heat up. It gets to a tolerable temp but not a comfortable one. Is there any easy way to check things out without taking it a mechanic first? What are some possibilities that could be causing the issue? My initial thought was the heater core but I don't want to go out and start buying parts if I don't know for sure.
Have your thermostat checked. It could be stuck open.
I have a 2004 Ford Expidition. Recently I had Ford do a cooling system flush on my SUV. I had the same problem happen with my heating system.I had to replace the Thermostat because it had a foreign object sticking the Thermostat in an open postition. I replaced the Thermostat with a Ford 192 degree and a New O Ring. Make sure that you replace the Anti-Freeze with the right color of Ford Anti-Freeze. Different years have different colors, mine was yellow in color. If you dont you'll have to have a complete cooling system flush.
