Did Pontiac build a 66GTO with a 237 vin which would have been a continuation of what was done in 64 and 65?

I know GM came out with a vin 242 GTO in 66, when was the first one of those
produced? The car I am looking at was built the second week of April and has
GTO badging as well as GTO on the title

Look at the last six digits, they would have started at 100001. So if your's is 100002, it's an early one.

No. All 1966 model year GTOs were 242 cars. If someone is selling a 1966 "GTO" and it has a 237 vin, it is a fake.
