I have a 1998 Chevy Pickup with the 5.7. After filling with gas it runs terrible - shaking, misfiring, etc. I had a scan and it said there was a misfire, which I already knew. I have added several gas additives, gas drier, 110 octane gas, a new fuel filter, and a couple tanks of 91 octane gas. When the fuel filter was replaced, we dumped it out and it looked like mud. So now not sure what to do. Wondering if the bad gas could have fouled the plugs, if I have a plugged injector, or if I should drain the fuel tank. Truck runs OK when not under a load but runs poorly up hill and at idle.

I would have the tank flushed out and install a new filter. Hopefully the filter stopped the junk from getting to the injectors.
