1989 Silverado 350 to Caddy 429 Engine Swap

Asked by lylepaul Aug 28, 2020 at 01:34 PM about the 1989 Chevrolet C/K 2500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

Has anyone Swapped a GM Engine for a Caddy Engine.  I have a rebuilt caddy
429 that I want to stick into my 89 K2500 Silverado.  I am planning on using the
chevy tranny and transfer case, will they mount up? Will the Motor mounts have
to be modified? Will i need a larger radiator for the big block caddy motor?

Try to find a transmission adapter! This will probably be the hardest part. If you have to pass smog inspection the 429 will fail.
