Insurance price of a 2000 Ford Mustang

Asked by Sep 02, 2013 at 06:17 PM about the 2000 Ford Mustang Base

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I'm 16 years old and I am planning
on buying my first vehicle. My father
has a 2000 Ford Mustang that he
said he would sell me for cheap. But,
I want to make sure I'm making the
right decision for my wallet. How
much would the insurance cost? My
family uses Progessive and nobody
in my family has gotten into an
accident and they are all over 21.

That's something you would need to contact Progressive Insurance for. It all depends on where you live, what type of coverage you want, etc.

buy a Toyota...will NOT break down and leave your stranded....like others will~

In NJ you'd be looking at upwards of $3,000.per year for basic liability. More if it's a V8 car ( they'll know by the vehicle identification number). Talk to your Progressive Agent. Perhaps they can give you options for cheaper rates. On the liability coverage I always get the highest level of coverage available. This is the part that covers YOU in case you crash into someone's living room after hitting five parked cars. I always prepare for the worst where insurance is concerned! HTH. -Jim
