Avoid Kia dealerships

Asked by GuruHQC7Z Jul 27, 2019 at 08:42 AM about the 2013 Kia Optima EX Turbo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2013 Kia Optima ex turbo only has 64,000
miles every scheduled maintenance done on time
engine started blowing a little bit white smoke on
start up and car stalled once on road. Took it to
Kia and they said it was normal that these engines
are dirty. 6 months later and the engine is
destroyed! No power blowing enough white smoke
to think my car is on fire. I have warranty but I have
a feeling Kia will make something up to avoid
paying for the fix even tho they told me nothing
was wrong with my car

White smoke is normally an indication of coolant in the cylinders. You likely have a blown head gasket or other internal coolant leak.

Car doesn’t loose coolant only burns oil I think my pistons and valve seals are destroyed maybe the turbo to but what started all of this if the dealer told me nothing was wrong when I first noticed a problem 6 months ago.

Get a second opinion to be sure and go to another Kia dealer. Double check all of your warranty paperwork as well. Good luck

Mine does this too but it has 110k miles. I think its the valve seals or the piston rings.
