Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn the vehicle off and remove the
keys from the ignition and open a door the
radio turns back on and you can roll the
Windows up and down. When I put the keys
back in the ignition with the door open
everything shuts off. So in order for my
battery not to die I have to leave my keys in
the ignition at all times.

Sounds like there is a programming error in the exit delay system, unfortunately a dealer is the only place to get it reflashed.

there was a recall to cover this problem here is a link to government site http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallresults.cfm? start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=VEHICLE&year=1999&ma ke=FORD&model=WINDSTAR&component_id=0&TYPENUM=1 &SUBMIT=Retrieve+Recalls&PrintVersion=YES
