2002 accord fuel leak?
so, my car is leaking fuel. i'm not sure if it's coming from a fuel line or the
tank itself, the tank looks kind of wet near the fuel lines and the drip is
coming from both, i haven't had a chance to inspect enough to determine if
there's a hole anywhere. My main question was: What material is the 2002
accord factory tank, and what would the best temporary fix for this be?
Don't have the money to take it to a shop and have anything replaced ATM,
and I have an echeck to pass coming up pretty soon.
Violet, there is no temp fix for a fuel leak. You replace the hose or gasket that is leaking, the fuel system is underpressure. A leak can cause a fire very easily. So shouldn't be taken lightly. Have it fixed ASAP or park the car until you have the funds to fix it properly. Most probably the tank might have to be removed to find the leak, or at least get the car in the air to access the hose be it a hard line or rubber.
