All Dashboard lights stay illuminated & killing battery

Asked by Auvi Nov 04, 2019 at 08:58 AM about the 2016 Nissan Rogue SV FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning when my husband walked up to the car he realized all the
dashboard/console lights were illuminated.  Well naturally the battery was
drained and the vehicle couldn't start.

He attempted to start the car but failed.  Turning everything off, the dash still
stayed completely light.  We waited 40 seconds and it never turned off. The
battery was stilled drained and the car was off (internal lights still on).  When
he walked away from the car the "key left in car warning beeped" which it
shouldn't' have.

What could possibly cause all the internal dash/console lights to stay
illuminated?  Also, the vehicle appears to be acting as if its in accessory
mode (?) maybe (hence the key left in the car warning beeps) when we walk
away.

Did you ever figure out what caused this? Our 2018 rouge is doing the exact same thing this morning?

I’m having the exact same issue with my 2016Rogue , Did you find out what the issue was with yours??

Sorry for the delay I didn't notice the questions. Yes, we figured out a solution, not sure it will work for you. We disconnected the battery, cleaned off all the terminals, gave the battery a charge and everything has been working grand since.

The pop was an electrical sound... like when you plug in a microphone that was on... really amplified. Any idea for that part?

Most likely it's a dead or weak battery. It's weird that these cars have a battery light that doesn't turn on due to this issue. I kept charging the battery but the dash lights kept staying on. Called nissan and the quoted me 450 just to figure out the problem. I am sure they knew exactly what the problem was. So I took the rogue to auto zone for a free battery test and the battery was the problem. Got a new battery and boom, problem fixed. I can't believe how many problems I have had with this car. Only 19k miles and nothing but problem
