hearing "single click noise" when closing either of the doors..?

Asked by Dec 08, 2012 at 09:25 PM about the 1997 Honda Civic Coupe EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently upgraded my factory speakers, both front and rear. Also noticed (thanks to Crutchfields
instruction manual) that in order for the dome light to work in the middle position, you must splice
together the green/red and green/black wires from the green factory harness behind the stereo. So I
did that as well, works great now. Finally got everything finished. But now when I turn the car off and
get out, as i close the door I hear a single click coming from the rear of the car. I have no idea what it
could be. Can someone assist me?

sounds like a loose connection recheck your connections

Well of course. I had considered that, but since I just installed all new speakers I made extra sure that all connectors were tight and good to go before putting all of the dashes back on. They weren't the easiest to take off..and it's easy to break some of the plastic clips in an old car like that. So yeah..i don't know 100% how the car is wired, but i know enough to get by and i can't for the life of me figure out why if anything the noise would be coming from the rear. Unless my ears are deceiving me.
